GHG Mandatory Reporting & Verification

GHG Mandatory Reporting & Verification

California Air Resources Board GHG Verification

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has implemented the Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) Reporting rule under the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32). This rule requires approximately 700 facilities in California to report their GHG emissions. For more information regarding the reporting rule, please visit: http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/reporting/ghg-rep/ghg-rep.htm

All calendar year 2009 emissions reports submitted to ARB must be verified by an ARB-accredited verifier in 2010. Verification is optional in 2009 for 2008 reported emissions. Cameron-Cole is an ARB-accredited verification body for all sectors including General Stationary Combustion, Petroleum Refineries, Cement Plants and Power Entities.

Cameron-Cole’s has several staff members who have passed the rigorous California Air Resources Board accreditation process to become greenhouse gas verifiers under the AB 32 program. Fact Sheet...

The Climate Registry

Cameron-Cole joined The Climate Registry as a Founding Member in December 2007. The Climate Registry is a nonprofit collaboration that sets consistent and transparent standards to calculate, verify and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions into a single registry. For more information .

The California Climate Action Registry

On April 2, 2009, the Climate Action Reserve (“the Reserve”) announced it has become the successor organization to the California Climate Action Registry. The Reserve is now the nonprofit parent organization, and the California Climate Action Registry is a program under its umbrella. The California Climate Action Registry will still be accepting emissions inventory data through the 2009 reporting year. After verification is completed in 2010, reported data will be transferred to the California Climate Action Registry’s sister organization, The Climate Registry (TCR). All future reporting (data year 2010 and beyond) will be done through TCR, if organizations join as members of this voluntary registry.

Cameron-Cole has been and continues to be an approved technical assistance provider and third-party verifier for members of the California Climate Action Registry. Further, we currently provide technical assistance to members of TCR, and are in the process of obtaining American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accreditation to provide verification services as well.
