Overview
Cameron-Cole, LLC has practiced a sustainable business model from its founding in 2001.
Today the term “sustainability” is used in a wide variety of contexts.
For Cameron-Cole our sustainable business approach has been focused on not what
we do, but on how we do it. We are committed to performing all of our services
with a view toward how each service can reflect a long-term value to our clients
and to ourselves.
We believe that this approach to defining “sustainability” in terms of the process and not
the product is one that can be adopted by our clients and our focus is to help them identify
and make these changes.
Over the past decade, Cameron-Cole has provided leading-edge sustainability consulting
services to private and public organizations both in and outside of the U.S. We are very
aware of the need for our clients to meet their near-term objectives while considering
the long-term impacts of their activities and decisions. By focusing on social and
environmental issues as well as economic ones, risks can be effectively managed and
opportunities can be identified. Through well-tested processes, Cameron-Cole provides
clients with the guidance and tools to make “sustainability” operational – including
the reality of a low-carbon economy.
Cameron-Cole applies these concepts and practices to our own business to align our values
with our operations. We have established a sustainability policy that guides our internal
efforts (available upon request). We have identified a number of material issues, and are
actively working on addressing them. An example is carbon emissions. We have delineated our
carbon footprint, are in the third year of compiling a companywide GHG inventory, and have
joined The Climate Registry as a Founding Member. We have also undertaken an Environmentally
Preferable Purchasing (EPP) program and other initiatives that seek to minimize the impacts
of what we buy and use throughout our business.
