Sustainable Structures Program

Cameron-Cole recognizes commercial building owners have numerous and often competing challenges, including keeping operational costs low, making a “greener” and more pleasing work environment for occupants, and maintaining positive stakeholder and community relations.

Today, when a variety of folks can get accredited as LEED® AP and claim familiarity with concepts of sustainability, it is important to distinguish consultants who can really provide services that will benefit your business. At Cameron-Cole, we have that expertise: We are architects and we are environmental engineers and we are businesspeople.

Cameron-Cole’s staff has a combined skill set of architecture, engineering, and business that allows us to evaluate all aspects of your built structures and provide guidance in your decision-making. We have no hidden agenda and if indicators show that it is not advisable to “green” some aspect, we will provide you with the back-up for that decision.

Applying advanced sustainability concepts to existing structures is technically highly challenging but can provide great rewards. Our team has many years of experience working with existing structures from every era, working with most building types, and working in urban, suburban, and rural contexts. In addition, we can ultimately provide architectural services through construction to physically realize the sustainable elements and stand behind the outcomes.

Our Sustainable Structures Program features three options:

  • The Sustainable Structures Evaluation provides a clear overview of the building’s components and energy usage; a comparison of results to those of similar buildings within your region and to industry standards; and an evaluation of current performance and benefits of potential improvements. Fact Sheet... (Note: File Size 3meg)
  • The Building Options Guide is a more detailed report that focuses on selected components defined in the Sustainable Structures Evaluation. It provides more specific details of the building’s envelope construction and interior considerations, and provides strategies for future building modifications.
  • The Building Modification Program provides detailed architectural specifications of the components chosen for remodeling. Our architectural design partners work with contractors and vendors, and help you realize the recommended changes to achieve your goals.
