Cameron-Cole Earns New York State Accreditation to Verify Greenhouse Gas Emissions
NYSDEC Accreditation Expands Cameron-Cole's Third-Party Verification Services for New York's Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program
[Conklin, New York] — November 4, 2026 — Cameron-Cole, an ADEC Innovation, has been accredited by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) as a greenhouse gas verification body under the State's Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. This accreditation authorizes Cameron-Cole to provide independent verification services that support New York's greenhouse gas reporting requirements and help regulated entities ensure the accuracy, transparency, and credibility of reported emissions data.
The accreditation comes as organizations across New York prepare for new greenhouse gas reporting obligations under the State's climate regulations. As a DEC-accredited verification body, Cameron-Cole is authorized to conduct independent reviews of emissions inventories and verify reported greenhouse gas emissions data in accordance with program requirements.
"New York's reporting program represents an important step in advancing consistent and reliable emissions reporting across the state," said Chris Lawless, Vice President, Climate Change & Sustainability Services at Cameron-Cole. "We are proud to support regulated entities as they navigate these requirements and prepare for verification. Our team brings decades of greenhouse gas assurance experience and a practical understanding of emissions reporting programs, helping clients move forward with confidence”.
With more than 25 years of greenhouse gas assurance experience and over 1,000 completed verifications, Cameron-Cole provides organizations with independent verification, verification readiness assessments, greenhouse gas inventory support, and Greenhouse Gas compliance services. The firm's experience spans multiple industries and regulatory frameworks, helping clients improve data quality, identify reporting gaps, and prepare for third-party assurance requirements.
Organizations subject to New York's greenhouse gas reporting requirements may benefit from early preparation activities, including applicability assessments, emissions data reviews, and verification readiness evaluations. Establishing verification support early can help entities address potential data gaps, improve reporting processes, and position themselves for future compliance obligations.
