Cameron-Cole staff conducted the Phase I, Phase II, and Supplemental Phase II Environmental Assessments at a site slated for redevelopment. During the Phase II work, surface soil sampling and analysis were conducted for a broad range of potential contaminants. A Supplemental Phase II Assessment was implemented to investigate subsurface conditions. A Human Health Risk Assessment was performed to evaluate potential risks during preconstruction, construction, and postconstruction activities. Both the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and U.S. EPA reviewed the results of the assessments and concluded that construction could proceed without delay. Cameron-Cole also conducted a Fate and Transport Assessment to determine the risks of leaving approximately 26,000 cubic yards of petroleum-impacted soil in place at a portion of the site designated as a future parking lot. The CDPHE reviewed the results of the fate and transport assessment and concluded that construction of the parking lot could proceed without delay, saving our client $500,000 in cleanup costs.
